Canon R6 Picture Profiles | Cinema Elite Series

Hey there traveler, I hope all is well.

A quick reminder that a tutorial is coming soon.

For just a brief moment I must Introduce you to the Canon R6 Picture Profiles | Cinema Series.

This collection of in-camera picture profiles was designed for wedding filmmakers by wedding filmmakers.

After scaling the wedding branch of my video production company, I quickly needed an in-camera solution to get closer to a more cinematic and stylized image without introducing more equipment.

Shortly after the completion of our first custom picture profile, we moved directly into field testing.

Our team filmed over 10 different weddings using various film techniques to capture a beautiful image. Each wedding is entirely filmed with our Cinema Elite picture profile.

It wasn't long after pulling the videos into DaVinci Resolve that I knew this will revolutionize the way wedding filmmakers use Canon mirrorless cameras.

This collection includes 3 different picture profiles that vary based on skill level.

  1. Cinema Prime | A great starter profile to help social media influences save time in post.
  2. Cinema Pro | The most flexible profile designed to produce clean whites, yellow, & blue.
  3. Cinema Elite | A true work of art engineered for the most cinematic in-camera experience.

To further enhance the image captured in the camera, I strongly suggest increasing the "clarity" within your camera menu to +1.

The final ingredient needed to capture a truly inspiring image in the camera is a Tiffen Pro Mist Filter 1/8th. This filter will bloom the highlights and reduce overall contrast by less than 10%.

  2. The light meter should read an even exposure in the middle. No need for ETTR.
  3. Apply finishing LUTS only.

Profile Behavior:

  1. Cinema Prime favors skin tones and a cinematic theme. Prioritize your highlights.
  2. Cinema Pro keeps original colors intact while maximizing dynamic range.
  3. Cinema Elite lifts shadows, compresses highlights, prioritizes skin tones, and slightly alters hues all in the camera.
